Therapy Sessions
Whether you are interested in working through a specific problem or want to find out more about yourself, I can help you explore what might be holding you back and support your development.
I see clients in person in Carmarthenshire and London, and online UK-wide, offering one-to-one psychotherapy, group work and consulting.

What to Expect...
I am Deborah Coughlin and my background in culture, innovation, leadership development and social impact led me to train as a psychotherapist. I am very interested in personal transformation and cultural change, and the creative ways we can attend to both.
I am experienced in working with clients one-to-one, including those struggling with relationships, sexuality, illness, work, trauma, histories of abuse, people who suffer from anxiety or depression and those looking for personal development. I am also very experienced working with groups, leaders and organisations in a variety of capacities.
I have specialised in Gestalt psychotherapy which is flexible and creative, and there is evidence it can be effective for trauma, depression, anxiety and personal development in general. I also integrate other models including Transactional Analysis, Trauma Informed Neuroscience, Dreamwork and more, depending on the clients needs.

More about how I work
As an advanced trainee at the Welsh Psychotherapy Institute I provide one-to-one therapy through their Affordable Therapy Service, and am subject to their policies and guidelines which you can find on their site. I am a trainee member with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I abide by the Codes of Ethics of both UKCP and my training organisation (WPI), including their confidentiality policy and General Data Protection Regulation guidance, as well as meeting their requirements for regular supervision by an experienced and accredited supervisor, which also supports my work in being anti-oppressive.
For my group and consulting work I work privately, supported by an experienced and accredited supervisor.
